MEET THE IVC FAMILY

Dr. Bart Bryan
DVM

Dr. Bart Bryan received his DVM degree from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. Dr. Bryan has worked with many different types of animals in several mixed-animal practices and has co-owned IVC with his wife (Dr. Michelle) since 2004. His interests are in surgery (soft tissue and orthopedic) and wellness care. Outside the office, Dr. Bryan enjoys playing guitar, stand-up paddle boarding, boating, fishing, and watching Auburn football with Michelle.

Dr. Michelle Bryan
DVM

Dr. Michelle Bryan graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. Dr. Michelle’s medical interests are in ultrasound, diabetes, and internal medicine. She has completed additional ultrasound training by completing three post-graduate practitioner sabbaticals in ultrasound at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. She also enjoys working with geriatric patients, and managing chronic pain in both cats and dogs. Dr. Michelle enjoys knitting, yoga, reading, and spending time with her family; Weber, Burlap and her husband Bart.

Dr. Melissa Long
DVM

Dr. Melissa Long graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. Dr. Long’s medical interests include internal medicine, dermatology, and behavior. She especially enjoys working with cats and is a proud member of The American Association of Feline Practitioners. Dr. Long loves traveling with her husband Eric, spending time with her son Owen, their dog Moxie and Okie the cat. She also enjoys hiking and reading a good book.

Dr. Blair Keffer
DVM, CCRP

Dr. Blair Keffer graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2018.  Dr. Keffer’s medical interests include rehabilitation, nutrition/weight management, soft tissue surgery, and emergency medicine. Dr. Keffer loves working with our feline friends! In her free time, she can be found snowboarding, kayaking, ballroom dancing, and spending time with her family and pets; Audrey (kitty), Hannah and Penny (dogs).

Dr. Amy Benjamin
DVM

Dr. Amy Benjamin graduated from the University of California, Davis Veterinary School in 2005. She worked with her father at his veterinary clinic, Berkeley Dog and Cat Hospital in California, from 2005-2018. She moved with her family to northern Virginia and was a veterinarian there from 2018-2022. Her husband’s career moved the family once more to the Charlotte area where she is now happy to be a part of the team at Independence Veterinary Clinic. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter and their cat, Muffins.

Jennifer has been styling pets for over 18 years. She specializes in Bichon Frise grooming and is well versed in all breeds of dogs and cats. Jennifer has a natural talent for working with special needs pets, such as blind, disabled and the elderly.
