DOG PARKS IN CHARLOTTE
In 2008, Mecklenburg County has provided, free of charge, the use of its dog park facilities. Just a few rules you need to follow:
- Dogs must be up-to-date on vaccinations, including Rabies with tag number, DHLPP and Bordetella
- Parks are open from 7:30 am until dusk
- No children under 12 are allowed in dog parks
- You must follow all posted dog park rules

Swaney Pointe K-9 Park is located in the Ramsey Creek area of Charlotte. This is a four-acre facility, fully-fenced with separate areas for large and small dogs.
Barkingham Park is located at Reedy Creek Park off of Rocky River Road. It is a four-acre facility and fully-fenced.
In McApline Creek Community Park lies Ray’s Fetching Meadow. This dog park is located off of Monroe Road and is a one-acre facility.

Keep in mind that during the hot summer months, you should take caution when taking your pooch outside during the heat of the day. Be sure to take plenty of water for drinking and pay attention to the signs of heat exhaustion mentioned in our previous post, SUMMER PET SAFETY.
